The Vertex Air jacket is new for 2018 and it is their sport oriented, but basic mesh jacket. This jacket has sport styling along with a mostly-mesh shell to keep you comfortable in hot weather. The shell of this jacket is built much like REVITs other mesh styles in that most of the shell is mesh material and then solid textile materials are in the most crash prone areas such as the elbows, shoulders and the sides of the torso. The inside liner is flow through nylon. So being mostly mesh material, this jacket will be very comfortable in hot weather. For really hot weather use in a dry climate, you can add the Challenger Cooling vest (see link below) to get some evaporative cooling effect. SeeSmart level 1 armor is included in this jacket in the shoulders and elbows. This is REVIT's lighter, thinner and more flexible armor. It is perfect for a summer oriented, light weight jacket like this. A back protector is not included, but you can add one (see sizing instructions below). Have a look at the molded armor pieces on the exterior of the shoulders. They are a semi-stiff plastic and looks sharp and will give an added measure of crash protection in the shoulder area. The collar of the jacket is nicely finished out with a lightly padding interior with soft material against your neck and also a padded roll around the upper edge. You can fine tune the fit in the arms and the waist band with adjusters. A short rear zipper is included to attach to pants, or to use in conjunction with the Safeway belt to connect the jacket to jeans. Overall, and very nice jacket that looks sporty and is easy to wear.
